Job Opportunities at SimbaNet, NOC Specialist 2021: SimbaNET Limited is part of The Wananchi Group and one of Eastern African leading internet, data and multimedia communication solutions provider. SimbaNET is inviting applications from qualified and experienced candidates to fill the vacant position existing in the Technical Department.

SimbaNET seeks to recruit highly competent, self-motivated and professional individual for the
NOC Specialist position with below job description;

Job Purpose
Design, deploy, troubleshooting and manage the performance of the core, distribution & access infrastructure, broadcast, IP/MPLS data and Internet link on both Fiber, Wireless and Satellite. Configuring customers’ Internet access with subscribed QOS and policies in all elements and devices. Enforce security settings safeguarding all connectivity elements as well as customer subscribed services. Providing reports for capacity utilization, availability and performance of the infrastructure and customer links,

supporting customers as an escalation point to resolve connectivity and Internet access related
challenges. Proactive monitoring and reporting.

Skills , Knowledge & Abilities
3+ Years of relevant experience in managing networks such as IP, MPLS and VSAT, preferably in an ISP environment. QoS configuration and management. Knowledge in design, deployment, performance optimization, troubleshooting and management of; routing and respective protocols (OPF, RIP, EIGRP, IS-IS, BGP), Core, distribution and access network, ISP and customer network security technologies (i.e. SSH, Firewalls, UTMs, ACLs, SSL, VPNs.

Basic Power Management and Backup and able to fully perform NOC functions; network monitoring, troubleshooting & use of performance and traffic analysis tools), MPLS – Design, service implementation and troubleshooting.

Education
Advanced Diploma in Networking, B.Sc. in Communications, Computer Science or Electronics science, CCNA /JNCIA/ CCNP / JNCIS-ISP certifications, GVF or IOM Satellite Certification are added advantage.
