Research Associates (2) will have experience conducting health-related research and a good understanding of both quantitative and qualitative methods. Associates will be local nationals who are familiar with the issues related to noncommunicable diseases and health system development. Research Associates will provide operational support to the Team Lead consultant in planning and conducting research and liaising with stakeholders.

Person Specification

The Team Lead will have substantial experience either in leading, designing, and conducting and non-clinical, health services or health systems related research, and / or in managing the implementation of public health programs in Tanzania. They will have a strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, the health issues in Tanzania, public health / prevention, as well as strong knowledge of the health system, contacts with government and civil society, and ideally will have some knowledge of, and contacts in the diabetes or non-communicable disease community.

The successful candidate is likely to be a local national qualified to doctoral level, with a minimum of ten years’ experience, including research leadership. The Team Lead will work under the guidance of the RTI International Country Liaison & Diabetes Research Analyst, who will act under the RTI Project Director.
