VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

On behalf of Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA), Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) invites dynamic and suitable qualified Tanzanians to fill 13 vacant posts as mentioned below;

BUSINESS REGISTRATION AND LICENSING AGENCY (BRELA)

BRELA is a Government Executive Agency which was established under the Executive Agencies Act No. 30 of 1997 and published on the 8 th October, 1999 through Government Notice No. 294. The Agency was officially inaugurated on the 3rd December 1999 so as to facilitate orderly conduct of business and provision of business regulatory services. The major functions of BRELA is to administer various business laws including the Companies Act Cap 212; Business Names Act Cap 213 R.E. 2002; Trade and Service Marks Act Cap 236 R.E 2002; Patents (Registration) Act Cap. 217 R.E. 2002; National Industries Registration and Licensing Act Cap. 46 R.E. 2002 and Business Licensing Act Cap. 208 R.E 2002. In addition, BRELA monitors the registered and licensed entities to ensure legal compliance and handles disputes resolution services in relation to Patents, Trade and Service Marks Registrations and removal proceedings.

1. LICENSING OFFICER II - 1 POST

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To receive and process Business/Industrial licensing applications in accordance with the and its regulation;

ii. To conduct Business licensing inspection.

iii. To maintain Business licensing statistics.

iv. To preserve manual and electronic Business license documents;

v. To prepare and presents analytical assessment of Business Licenses application;

vi. To assist potential investors with technical information and advice on suitable investment possibilities;

vii. To provide technical advice to prospective investors on viability of Business Licensing projects;

viii. To issue Business Licenses and certificates of registration;

ix. To prepare progress reports;

x. To provide inputs for preparation of periodic reports;

xi. To provide inputs for development and review of policies and guidelines; and

xii. To perform any other official duties as may be assigned by immediate

supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields: Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Laws (LL.B) or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions. Must be computer literate.

REMUNERATION- Salary scale of BRELA 6.


REGISTRATION OFFICER II – 1 POST

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To receive new applications, processing by checking correctness of information, including similarities of proposed names/logo, particulars of applicants, directors, Company Secretary, enter recommendation, including, particulars of Owners, Agent;

ii. To check correctness of specification of goods/ services and sending to IPAS from generating application number.

iii. To classify goods sent to IPAS for generating application number;

iv. To receive applications for name reservation and conduct online search todetermine actual similarities, enter recommendations and submit to the Authoring Officer for decision;

v. To receive various post-registration documents for assessment and ascertain corresponding payments of various fees payable to BRELA;

vi. To Scan, Print and Stamp documents uploaded by customers through ORS ready for updating and approvals;

vii. To capture and attend New Application for Patents Trade and Service Marks from ARIPO and updating old files by processing to the system;

xiii. To conduct formality examination by checking and identifying similarities of a Mark name;

xiv. To provide inputs for preparation of periodic reports;

xv. To provide inputs for development and review of policies and guidelines; and

xvi. To perform any other official duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields: Records Management, Business Administration, Law, Economics or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions. Must be computer literate.

REMUNERATION- Salary scale of BRELA 6.


ESTATE OFFICER II – 1 POST

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To assist in innovative approaches to conditioning, maintaining and upgrading of the surroundings of the Institute’s buildings;

ii. To undertake various types of civil engineering/building works underclose supervision;

iii. To advice on issues related to the maintenance and repair of buildingand Generator;

iv. To assist on plumbing and electricity maintenance;

v. To prepare sketches and plans needed for making minor alterations to buildings, plumbing and equipment;

vi. To design for decorative floriculture plan for land scalping and relevant operations;

vii. To supervise maintenance and cleaning services at the compound;

viii. To perform any other related duties as may be assigned bySupervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Building Economics, Land Management and Valuation or equivalent qualification from reputable institution. Must be registered by respective Professional Board as graduate Engineer, Architecture, Valuer, or Quantity Surveyor.

REMUNERATION- Salary scale of BRELA 6.


ICT OFFICER II (SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR) - 1 POST

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To install and configure new hardware/software, remote administration, train and support end users;

ii. To apply operating system updates, and configuration changes;

iii. To perform testing of system configurations

iv. To perform maintenance activities, systems backups , daily log backups and restore;

v. To administrate servers, security systems, databases, business applications, tools, and manage user accounts;

vi. To conduct system documentations;

vii. To troubleshoot, document and communicate computer systems related problems, solutions and the implementation process;

viii. To keep and update software and hardware inventory;

ix. To participate in implementation of new solutions;

x. To implement disaster recovery in accordance with the ICT Business Continuity Plan;

xi. To provide inputs for preparation of periodic reports;

xii. To provide inputs for development and review of policies and guidelines; and

xiii. To perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of Bachelor Degree of one of the following fields: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information System and Network Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information and Communication Systems Management or equivalent computer science related qualifications from recognized institutions.

 REMUNERATION- Salary scale of BRELA 7

ICT OFFICER II (NETWORK ENGINEER) – 1 POST

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To provide technical support related to the networks;

ii. To maintain and repair all networks managed by the Agency includingbackups;

iii. To participate in designing and installation of networks and relatedaccessories and equipment;

iv. To maintain and repair of Network active and passive equipment;

v. To troubleshoot all network related problems;

vi. To undertake management of LAN, wireless systems, telephone systems(PBX)

vii. To document and communicate network related problems, solutions and the implementation process;

viii. To assign network resources and user accounts;

ix. To provide inputs for preparation of periodic reports;

x. To provide inputs for development and review of policies and guidelines;and

xi. To perform any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of Bachelor Degree of one of the following fields: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information System and Network Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information and Communication Systems Management or equivalent computer science related qualifications from recognized institutions.

REMUNERATION- Salary scale of BRELA 7.


RECEPTIONIST II – 2 POSTS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To respond on all enquiries and forward them to appropriate departments where necessary;

ii. To receive and connect incoming calls;

iii. To maintain electronic incoming and outgoing calls register;

iv. To receive and direct telephone calls from the general lines to appropriate officers;

v. To prepare timely and accurate reports;

vi. To test all the equipment and the lines to ensure they are in good working order; and

vii. To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisors. 


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least three credits passes in English and Kiswahili plus Certificate in one of the following fields: Telephone Operation, Reception, Office Management, Front Office, Front Desk Management, Customer Care or equivalent qualification from recognized institutions. The candidate must be good in Public communication and computer literate.

REMUNERATION- Salary scale of BRELA 2

xi. Professional certificates from foreign Universities and other training institutions

should be verified by The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and National

Council for Technical Education (NACTE);

xii. An applicant with special needs/case (disability) is supposed/advised to indicate;
