JOB PURPOSE

Timely and accurate reporting is essential as far as food commodities management is concerned in humanitarian context. Considering essence of effective accountability to all key stakeholders whom include beneficiaries, donors and program implementers, hence the purpose of this role is to ensure quality and accurate reports are compiled and submitted timely. Participate into field physical inventory exercises for the sake of ascertaining the true picture of information being compiled. Since information technology is vehicle for the role, he/she should ensure functionality of ICT to enhance effective use of CTS system and LMMS for date capturing regularly.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Capture waybills key information into the CTS system timely
  • End result:Key data captured into CTS timely

  • Generate CTS reports and share accordingly in a timely manner
  • End result: CTS reports generated timely

  • Ensure functionality of Information and Communication Technology component to enhance effective data capturing and reporting
  • End result: Functional ICT services

5%

  • Participate into periodical Physical Inventory exercises
  • End result: Physical Inventory undertaken precisely

10%

  • Ensure timely uploading of periodical approved reports
  • End result: Quality reports compiled and submitted

  • Follow up on CSS and ensure timely uploading
  • End result: Monthly CSS uploaded timely

  • Represent the program into Humanitarian Information Reporting forums organized at different national and regional levels
  • End result: Forums attended

  • Enhance internal controls regularly

Humanitarian Information Reporting Officer (HIRO) Job Vacancy

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Professional Experience

  • Three years’ experience in working with humanitarian operations,
  • Experience in reporting and ICT
  • Experience in working for commodities programs
  • Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
  • Training in commodities management, response trainings, human resources management, management and ICT
  • Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Degree in Accountant, Procurement, Information Communication and Technology, master’s degree is an added advantage

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement

  • Refugee camps
  • Physical Requirements
  • Should be physically fit

Language Requirements: English and Swahili

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Contact (within WV or outside WV)

 WFP Field staff

  • Reason for contact: They always on ground to participate into PI
  • Frequency of contact: Daily

UNHCR Field Staff

  • Reason for contact: To resolve challenges associated with beneficiaries registration
  • Frequency of contact: Daily

Plan International

  • Reason for contact: For child protection issues associated with food services
  • Frequency of contact: Daily
Refugee community leaders

  • Reason for contact: Information dissemination to the communities at large
  • Frequency of contact: Regularly

EDP staff

  • Reason for contact:Periodical PI and reconciliations
  • Frequency of contact: Regularly
