About US:

Mildmay Uganda is an indigenous Christian NGO that offers General and HIV/AIDS medical services also providing technical support for Ministry of Health Systems to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS Services.

Job Summary:  The Support Counsellor will be responsible for ensuring HTS targets for adolescents are met, all positive clients tested positive are linked into care and are supported to start ART. They shall also support counselling to all HIV clients in care to increase the identification of undiagnosed HIV positive children and partners in the assigned facility.  They shall provide quality psychosocial support to all care givers and adolescents in care to ensure that all children and adolescents are virally suppressed and retained in care. The counsellor will also facilitate facility to community linkage and follow-up of clients to support retention.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must hold a Diploma in Counselling and Guidance
  • Certificate in HIV Counseling is an added advantage.
  • One year of experience as a counsellor.
  • Knowledge and experience of HIV/AIDS care issues
  • Knowledge of Ministry of health and local government systems
